Yarn Swatches!

It's been a week since I posted my first entry on blogspot (whoah time flies so fast....really!). I have been busy with my online project and did not have much time to crochet.

So here's what I come up with in spite of my busy schedule.................Dyarraaannnn!!! My own yarn swatches!! <3 <3 <3

I am still in the process of making these swatches. I have marked with pencil the blocks for yarns (have to do that so I won't get carried away putting in the yarns lol). I will then print out the yarn colors on a sticker and stick on its designated blocks.

Oh I am still awaiting for 3 batches of yarns! That is why there are spaces and I did not print it out with the colors already.

These are all worsted weight yarns.

I believe this will serve it's purpose. Now my re-sellers would have something to show to their clients which yarn colors are available and their preferred color combination for a certain project.

Simple but usable.

NYC on Blogspot!

I wanted for so long to have my own blog. However, it is always my dilemma where and how to start.

I am not a writer (conquering my fear to write lol). I simply do not know how to put everything in words. Still, I decided to make one though...for my craft.

As I am not a 'good' writer, this will be my online tool for my arts and shop. :-)

I learned crocheting when I was in grade school (in 5th or 6th grade probably). I recall we never had a project but did have an actual examination on how to crochet a chain (ch), single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc), and treble crochet (tr). It appeared that we were using US terms way back.

We were only using size 7 steel hook (1.50mm) then. It did not occur to me that I would be using other sizes than this.

That was the first and the last time I touched a hook until four months ago. Yes! After so many years I fell in love again with hooks! =))

How did this happen?

I was actually interested in knitting. I was watching a local film when I saw one of the characters in the film knitting. I have always been interested in any kind of crafts! So I made my first knitting needles out of banana cue sticks.

Then while searching for patterns, I landed on pieces made of crochet hooks! Very interesting!

I was challenged! Do I still know how to make a chain?

I do! I am so pleased to know that my hands still have a feel on crochet hooks. Although I consider myself as a noob, my mom (who has been a crocheter too) says my works are neatly done.

Four months ago, when I fell inlove again with hooks... I slowly started to learn the basic knitting stitches  and testing my crocheting skills. It was the same month I opened my online shop for fellow crafter to provide supplies for their crafts.

It was called Needle n' Yarn Crafts.
